1.) DIY no-sew re-upholstery

October 2020. Dining chairs have been a part of the household since 1995. Saying yes to revamping (#sustainable choice) rather than buying new ones.
"To live sustainably is to buy something once, then never again." - Kelsey Marillis
I tried doing this on my own in the midst of pandemic for the reasons: (a) no furniture shop is open at the moment and (b) it's way cheaper to DIY.
Materials used:
-
3 yards of fabric (this could fit 5 pcs of 40 x 40cm dia. round chairs if you lay it out properly)
-
2" foam cushion / unused pillow inserts (seller's note: pillow inserts are of Uratex brand)
-
Sand paper - 120 grit
-
Black enamel / black spray paint
-
Stapler
-
Staple wire remover
-
Screw driver
-
Glue sticks
-
Hot glue gun / candle
-
4 dining chairs to be upholstered
DIY review | October 2021. After a year of using the DIY-ed re-upholstered chairs, cushions and fabric are still intact after months of everyday use. The cushions are still plumped. On the downside, the retouch on black enamel paint have worn off. Possible reason for this: not prepped properly.
